!!! Let's Learn Hindi Vowels !!!
Vowels are the foundation, the building blocks, if you will, of any language, and so it is with Hindi. The Hindi language has 13 vowels, which are fundamental to the study of the language, as they combine with consonants to create words.
Since Hindi is a phonetic language, so learning the basic sounds, which are the vowels and consonants, is absolutely critical and also very effective. Once one understands the basic sounds, building upon those is quite easy, since more complex words and phrases are derived in a systematic way by combining these basic sounds.
Of course, one could learn how to listen, understand, and speak the language without necessarily learning how to read and write the vowels and consonants – which becomes a breeze by using our Talking Board. However, even if you don’t learn how to read and write the vowels and consonants, it is preferable to at least learn how to say and pronounce them, and become familiar with their sounds, because that will help your spoken language. Therefore, it is worth investing the time to at least learn the sounds of the vowels and consonants.
This is why we have devised a 3-step learning process, which makes this task a breeze!

We believe that you can easily learn the vowels by singing, using our famed Vowels Song (with over 66,000 views on YouTube!) that allows kids to become familiar with the order, number, and sounds of the vowels. Songs are easier to memorize, due to their rhythm, which naturally appeals to kids, helping them learn rapidly, without even realizing that they are doing so!
(In fact, we have seen kids being able to recite the vowels, within 10 minutes of hearing and repeating our Vowel Song, which is cast in the mold of the ever popular English poem “Twinkle Twinkle little star …” that kids tend to learn at an early age, so the tune is familiar and (in most cases) already known!)
Then by repeating the vowels with our own daughter Urvi (who learnt using this very same system), the repetition helps kids to internalize each individual vowel sound. Plus, on seeing another child perform with them, kids come away with a feeling of “Hey, if she can do it, I can do it!” This boosts self-confidence and spurs them along the learning path.
Finally, when learning with pictures, kids get to associate the sounds with a mental image (of a fruit, or a vegetable, a tree, a plant, or an animal), which helps with retention and recall! This solidifies the learning further.
Following this we’ll give you a chart that you can click and print, and use as an aid when you’re not on our site, thus reinforcing memory and learning.
To top this all, we provide you our Talking Board for vowels. This Board allows kids to learn the pronunciation of the vowels, at their own pace, by clicking any vowel and hearing its sound spoken by a native Hindi speaker. The Talking Board is, thus, a fun, simple, and extremely effective way for kids to associate the right sound with each vowel, and repeat this as often as they like! This is something that slightly older kids (say 6 and above) could experiment and play with on their own, with little parental supervision. Having the letter-sound association reinforced like this, is a great way for kids to effortlessly solidify their learning of the vowels.
